Trial Experience

For the purposes of the information below, trials are those litigation procedures which require interaction with witnesses and presentation of evidence.  Although every suit filed with a court requires some presentation to the Judge and approval, plea bargains, default judgments and settlement agreements are not reported here as trials.

As of December 2017, Parham has been the primary attorney in approximately 41 Jury trials and 87 bench trials since 1995.

Parham has also been the primary attorney on approximately 73 appeals.  Some cases go through multiple Courts of Appeals, and each one is a separate appeal.  Some appeals are on cases where Parham  was not the trial attorney.

Parham has served as an ad litem attorney in three counties, for both Texas Department of Family and Protective Services cases and private cases requiring ad litem representation of a party.

Parham is a trained mediator with training in both civil litigation and family law mediation.

 

Other Experience

Parham began the practice of law in May, 1995.  Prior to that time she had owned and operated an ERISA administration firm since 1980.  Her ERISA administration firm provided plan documents, administrative services, employee meetings, annual financial statements, annual information returns for the Internal Revenue Service, annual benefit statements for employeed, annual election forms for employees, summary plan descriptions and annual evaluations related to ERISA qualified defined benefit and defined contribution plans. Parham had a clientele of approximately 250 plans.  Parham also handled, for her clients, any Internal Revenue Service compliance audits of the plan.  Parham continued to service plans until 2000.

Parham worked for a plan administration firm and an Insurance company before she opened the ERISA administration firm. Additionally Parham worked for Southwestern Bell for 2 years before moving to the Insurance company.
